Welcome To Abbey McManus Coaching

I’m Abbey McManus, and I’m passionate about equipping teenagers with the mindfulness tools they need to navigate adolescence and young adulthood with confidence and calm. I understand the crippling effects of anxiety, the paralysing lack of confidence and the relentless pressure from peers. I've walked that path, feeling the weight of self-doubt and worry about others' opinions. It sabotaged my emotional well-being and hindered my learning and daily experiences at school. It threatened to derail my future and prevent me from reaching my full potential.

I am driven to help those who are currently facing these same challenges. I want to guide them towards overcoming these formidable hurdles, transforming their educational journey and enhancing their quality of life. Each and every one of them deserves to thrive, and I am committed to showing them the way.

As a dedicated mindfulness coach since 2000, I've empowered countless young people through engaging workshops, and I've also worked closely with parents, foster children, and their guardians. My relatable approach resonates deeply with teens, helping them embrace mindfulness as a powerful tool for their overall wellbeing.

The impact of mindfulness on education, wellbeing and social life is profound. For young people, it can enhance focus and concentration, leading to improved academic performance. It helps in managing stress and anxiety, promoting better mental health. Mindfulness encourages self-awareness and emotional regulation, crucial for maintaining healthy relationships with peers and family. By fostering a sense of calm and confidence, it can also boost self-esteem and social interactions, making it easier for teens to form meaningful connections and feel a sense of belonging.

Mindfulness is not just a practice but a lifeline that supports young people in thriving both in and out of school, ensuring they grow into balanced and resilient adults.

"Being a teenager today is incredibly challenging. They are bombarded with pressures from all directions, making it difficult to find balance and peace"
  • The pressure to perform well in school can be overwhelming. With endless tests, homework and the looming prospect of university, many teens feel immense stress to achieve academically.

  • Social media presents an idealised version of life that can make young people feel inadequate. The constant comparison to peers and influencers can lead to low self-esteem and a distorted self-image.

  • The need to fit in and be accepted can push teens to make choices that are not in their best interest.

  • Many strive for perfection in all areas of their lives, leading to an unhealthy mindset where they feel they are never good enough. This can result in anxiety and burnout.

 Mindful Coaching Can Help

I understand the unique challenges that teens face today. As a dedicated mindfulness coach, I offer tailored workshops and one to one sessions to address these specific pressures.
